Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Electronic & Mechanical Technician to join our fast-growing EV charging manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electro-mechanical assemblies
Responsibilities
- Key ResponsibilitiesAssembly & Manufacturing
- Perform high-quality mechanical assembly of EV charger enclosures, sub-assemblies, cooling systems, and mounting hardware.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Perform functional, high-voltage insulation (Hi-Pot), ground bond, and end-of-line (EOL) testing on completed EV chargers.
- Utilize diagnostic software and test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies) to verify system performance and safety compliance.
- Ensure all manufactured units conform to internal quality standards and industry safety certifications (UL, CE, CSA, ISO 9001).
Troubleshooting & Maintenance
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair defective electronic components, mechanical assemblies, and wiring issues during production.
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot manufacturing tools, jigs, and production test fixtures.
- Document root-cause analyses for component or assembly failures to assist engineering with continuous quality improvements.
- Execute electronic wiring, point-to-point soldering, crimping, wire harness routing, and terminal connections following schematics and engineering drawings.
- Install and integrate printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), power modules, contactors, OCPP communication modules, and display screens into charging units.
Requirements
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance with a focus on electrical systems, mechanical components, or manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals related to industrial equipment.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CMMS software, HVAC systems, boilers, welding techniques, and low voltage electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge including troubleshooting pumps, motors, conveyors, and other machinery components.
- Excellent analysis skills for diagnosing issues quickly and implementing effective solutions.
- Fluency in English with strong communication skills for collaborating across teams and providing customer service when needed.
- Relevant certifications or experience as an industrial electrician or in industrial maintenance are highly desirable.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Associate Degree or Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Technology, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- Experience: 2–4 years of experience as an electro-mechanical technician in electronics, automotive, power distribution, or industrial equipment manufacturing.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency reading electrical schematics, mechanical blueprints, assembly drawings, and wiring diagrams.
- Strong hand-soldering (IPC-A-610 or IPC-J-STD certification is a plus) and wire crimping skills.
- Solid understanding of AC/DC power electronics, high-voltage safety, transformer/contactor operation, and grounding principles.
- Experience with standard test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, insulation testers, Hi-Pot testers).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work with manual and power assembly tools.
