Big Hearts First Aid is a leading provider of high-quality, impactful resuscitation and safety education.
We are currently expanding our specialized team in the Grande Prairie region. We are looking for professional, high-energy instructors committed to upholding the highest standards of both the Heart & Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Red Cross.
In this versatile role, you will be crucial in training healthcare professionals, highly skilled responders, workplaces, and youth, helping them gain the skills and confidence to save lives.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
As a certified instructor with Big Hearts, your primary duties will include:
- Course Delivery: Deliver core Heart & Stroke Foundation BLS courses (Provider and Renewal), as well as comprehensive Canadian Red Cross First Aid & CPR, and Youth programs tailored to diverse audiences.
- Instructional Excellence: Facilitate hands-on, skills-based sessions that are engaging, efficient, and learner-focused. Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages participation.
- Assessment & Feedback: Assess students' understanding of the material through practical demonstrations and written evaluations, providing supportive feedback to improve their skills.
- Compliance & Protocol: Ensure all instruction, evaluation, and safety regulations strictly adhere to current Heart & Stroke guidelines, Red Cross protocols, and organizational standards.
- Course Administration: Manage course administrative tasks, including equipment setup/sanitization and the timely submission of course completion documentation.
- Professionalism: Maintain a professional, high-integrity presence while representing Big Hearts First Aid, collaborating with fellow instructors to share best practices.
Required Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:
- Current Heart & Stroke Foundation BLS Instructor Certification.
- Proven experience teaching BLS programs in a professional setting.
- Current Canadian Red Cross First Aid Instructor (FAI) Certification (Standard First Aid level).
- Canadian Red Cross Youth Leader (YL) Certification.
