Job Overview
Reporting to the General Manager, the Project Estimator is responsible to provide the necessary leadership to plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and control assigned projects.
Position Responsibilities
Accountabilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Ensuring documentation is maintained throughout the length of the project
- Ensuring project team adheres to provided timelines and deliverables
Assisting the Project Manager with;
- Administrative functions and processes
- Day-to-day activities
- Project data and producing progress reports
- Building team relationships
- Issues that may arise during the project
- Researching information that may help project development
Scheduling:
- Assist PM to monitor schedule/milestones
- Assist with weekly progress review
- Daily misc calls/coordination
Tracking:
- shop drawing
- Track submissions
- Maintain shop drawing log
- Follow up with subs
- Assist with review
Tracking and planning Testing:
- Plumbing
- Compaction/Soils
- Concrete
Assist with Sub selections/Awards:
- Eavestrough, Pressed steel frames/doors, etc
Assist PM with RFQ's:
- Source suppliers/subs
- Provide bidding documents
- Monitor questions and closing date
- Assist with review and awards
Assist with Materials/Orders:
- Mechanical Fixtures: Ie. Tubs, Showers, Accessible units, Vanities, faucets, etc
- Electrical Fixtures: Lighting
- Assist with Selection, Flooring, Millwork, etc
- Misc. items for site super
Project Coordinator Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of direct commercial construction experience is required
Project Coordinator Eductation
- Engineering or Engineering Technology Diploma is an asset
