Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused entry level Parts Advisor to join our Heavy truck and automotive team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive parts, retail sales, and customer service, with the ability to efficiently manage parts inventory and assist customers in finding the right solutions. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with dealership experience or a passion for automotive and heavy truck repair to contribute to a dynamic team environment.
Duties
- Assist customers in identifying and selecting the appropriate parts for their vehicle repairs or maintenance needs
- Manage and maintain parts inventory using dealership systems and software
- Process sales transactions accurately through POS systems, including cash handling and billing
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, offering technical advice, and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with service technicians and sales teams to fulfill order requests promptly and efficiently
- Maintain organized stock areas, ensure proper labeling, and monitor stock levels for reorder needs
- Support marketing efforts by promoting available parts and accessories to increase sales opportunities
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing product information and scheduling assistance as needed
- Assist with order fulfillment, ensuring timely delivery of parts to customers or service departments
- Uphold dealership standards for cleanliness, organization, and safety in the parts department
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or background in automotive repair preferred
- Proficiency with POS systems, Microsoft Excel, and order fulfillment processes
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and negotiation abilities
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer bases effectively
- Knowledge of CMMS software, retail sales techniques, and marketing strategies enhances performance
- Basic math skills necessary for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
- Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to build rapport and resolve issues professionally
- Familiarity with automotive parts, maintenance procedures, and sales management concepts is advantageous
