Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Equipment Operator specializing in excavator and grader operation, with a preference for Class 1 or Class 3 certification. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy construction equipment to support various infrastructure projects, including paving, grading, excavation, and site preparation. Your mechanical aptitude and experience with heavy machinery will be essential in ensuring efficient, safe, and precise operations. Duties
- Operate excavators, graders, dozers, loaders, backhoes, and other heavy equipment with precision and safety in construction and paving projects
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met
- Assist with site preparation activities such as grading, trenching, excavation, and backfilling using appropriate machinery
- Support horizontal drilling operations by coordinating equipment setup and operation as needed
- Collaborate with team members to execute project plans efficiently while adhering to safety protocols
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and communicate repairs needed to maintenance teams
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations to maintain a secure work environment at all times
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 or Class 3 Equipment Operator certification preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of certification
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as excavators, graders, dozers, loaders, and backhoes
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment or similar brands is highly desirable
- Experience with construction activities including paving, site grading, trenching, and horizontal drilling techniques
- Ability to operate additional machinery such as loaders and dozers confidently
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus for transporting equipment between sites
- Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites
