The Role and Candidate:
Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, the scope of this position involves all aspects of plant labour in a food production environment.
The starting hourly pay range for the role is $25.75 based on experience and qualifications. Plus, bonus, comprehensive benefits, retirement savings plan, paid vacation, and other perks and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate all aspects of ghee manufacturing including automated equipment and manual controls
- Utilize forklift to move raw materials and finished product throughout the plant
- Maintain safe, efficient operations while producing safe and high-quality products
- Accurately follow prescribed ghee making procedures ensuring consistent quality products
- Prepare, operate and monitor ghee vats and other manufacturing machinery
- Conduct daily CIP washes of systems
- Conduct daily tear down and sanitation of room and machinery as outlined in the SSOP’s for the area
- Interact with maintenance and other supervisory staff or management regarding any production issues
- Communicate any food safety issues to the Management team
- Maintain accurate and detailed manufacturing records and perform room and equipment checks as required
- Provide relief coverage for other operators/plant helpers as required
- Other duties as assigned by Management
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Minimum high school diploma and/or relevant food processing experience
- Valid forklift license or willingness to obtain
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), including excellent sanitary habits and possess knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
- Good communication skills, including written and verbal
- Ability to be flexible in terms of shift work and perform other duties as required
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Physically capable of performing the demands of the job and ability to multi-task
- Computer skills would be an asset
- Mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting ability
Shift Details: 8-12 hour rotating continental shifts totaling 40 hrs weekly (approx.) Shift times and hours worked may vary dependent on production volumes.
