Isaiah Tubbs Resort & Conference Centre is a full-service waterfront resort and premier event destination in Prince Edward County. Adjacent to Sandbanks Provincial Park, our property includes an 74-room Lodge/Beach House/Inn, The Knoll restaurant, three distinctive event venues, and premium conference facilities. Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Sales & Marketing Manager to drive revenue growth, manage the complete guest journey for groups, weddings, and conferences, and oversee all associated booking, operational, and payment functions. This role is central to the resort's success, requiring a blend of sales acumen, marketing expertise, operational excellence, and customer-focused leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development
- Identify, prospect, and close new group, wedding, and conference business through direct outreach, industry events, and partnership development
- Build and maintain relationships with event planners, corporate meeting managers, wedding planners, and key decision-makers
- Develop compelling proposals and quotes that reflect our unique value proposition and maximize revenue
- Track and report on sales pipeline, forecasts, and performance metrics against targets
- Negotiate contracts and terms to ensure profitability and client satisfaction
Guest Journey Management
- Own the complete lifecycle of group, wedding, and conference bookings from initial inquiry through final event execution and post-event follow-up
- Serve as primary point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communication and ensuring expectations are met or exceeded
- Coordinate with internal teams (operations, housekeeping, food & ; beverage, facilities) to deliver seamless event experiences
- Manage event details, special requests, room blocks, dining arrangements, AV requirements, and custom packages
- Gather client feedback post-event and identify opportunities for improvement and future business
Booking and Operational Oversight
- Manage group and event bookings using our property management and booking systems
- Verify all booking details, rates, packages, and special accommodations are accurately captured and communicated
- Create and maintain event specifications, run sheets, and operational briefs for all departments
- Collaborate with venue and catering teams to finalize event logistics and ensure
readiness
Payment Processing and Collections
- Generate and send accurate invoices, deposits, and balance due notices according to contract terms
- Track payment status, follow up on outstanding balances, and resolve payment discrepancies
- Process multiple payment methods and ensure proper documentation and compliance
- Report on revenue, deposits collected, and accounts receivable status to management
Marketing & Brand Promotion
- Develop and execute targeted marketing campaigns for group, wedding, and conference segments
- Manage website content, online booking tools, and digital marketing channels
- Create compelling marketing materials, case studies, and event photography/video content
- Attend industry trade shows, networking events, and conferences to promote the resort
- Manage social media presence and online reputation to showcase successful events
Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor key performance indicators, group revenue, booking conversion rates, and client satisfaction
- Analyze market trends and competitor activity to inform pricing, positioning, and strategy
- Continuously refine processes, systems, and client experience based on data and
feedback
Required Qualifications
- 2-4 years of sales and marketing experience in hospitality, events, or related industry
- Proven track record of generating group and event business and closing high-value contracts
- Strong project management skills with ability to juggle multiple events at various stages
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport with diverse audiences
- Proficiency with PMS (property management systems), Excel
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Problem-solving mindset with ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle unexpected issues
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with wedding and conference planning or destination event management
- Familiarity with revenue management and pricing strategy in hospitality
- Knowledge of Prince Edward County or Ontario resort/destination market
- Experience with digital marketing, SEO, and social media promotion
