Plant Manager – ChamClad Manufacturing

About the Role
ChamClad Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead all aspects of plant operations and ensure manufacturing objectives are achieved in alignment with financial and strategic targets. This role is responsible for maximizing operational efficiency, machine utilization, labor productivity, product quality, lead-time performance, and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who excels at developing teams, improving processes, and driving continuous improvement across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision and development of production supervisors, manufacturing engineering, materials, production scheduling, and all plant personnel.
- Work with the ChamClad business unit and operations teams to maintain lead times at targeted levels.
- Develop and maintain current and future state value stream maps and implementation plans.
- Plan, monitor, execute, and communicate daily, monthly, and annual production goals.
- Collaborate with the Materials Team to establish effective inventory management procedures.
- Ensure proper maintenance and maximum utilization of production machinery and equipment.
- Coordinate with scheduling, receiving, shipping, and engineering departments to support smooth operations.
- Drive a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Enforce corporate safety and housekeeping policies and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance value stream performance and plant processes.
- Provide input to improve plant flow, productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Improve productivity through employee involvement, manpower planning, lean manufacturing, materials planning, and synchronized production.
- Optimize customer service levels through schedule attainment and on-time shipping performance.
- Manage direct labor, including staffing levels, overtime usage, and alignment with sales and operations plans.
- Support corporate maintenance initiatives and participate in project teams focused on operational improvements.
- Develop a flexible, cross-trained workforce.
- Provide input to manufacturing engineering on plant layout, process flow, routings, labor standards, work methods, capital equipment, and quality levels.
- Develop long-term strategic plans to achieve operational excellence and support ChamClad’s growth and profitability targets.
- Monitor production and sales activity, identify variances to budget, and recommend corrective actions.
- Manage salary expenditures, including overtime and merit increases.
- Represent ChamClad Manufacturing during tours, interviews, vendor visits, and other external interactions.
- Collaborate with business unit managers to develop and implement strategic business plans.
- Understand, communicate, and improve ChamClad business unit financial performance.
- Develop, communicate, and deliver key performance indicators for plant and office employees.
- Oversee facilities and grounds maintenance.

Required Experience
- Minimum 5–10 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record in leading production teams and managing day-to-day plant operations.
- Experience with safety compliance, quality control, and continuous improvement practices.
- Background in production planning, maintenance coordination, and cost management.
- Demonstrated ability to develop staff, build strong teams, and drive operational performance.
