Strassburger Windows & Doors is seeking a individual to join our growing and dynamic production team as a Lead Supervisor in our Windows Department. This is a full-time position Monday to Friday, which includes benefits, and Employee Family Assistance Program and a Group RRSP program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help the Plant Manager organize the daily activity of all resources primarily assigned to the Windows Department.
- Fulfill the production plan with high quality products in a timely manner.
- Ensure that issues that impede departmental efficiency and effectiveness, either technical or labour, are dealt with in order that the issues are resolved and do not recur.
- Identify and document all non-conforming material from suppliers, either internal or external.
- Ensure that products are provided to the Shipping Department in a timely manner as required.
- Provide technical expertise on behalf of the company both internally and externally.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment within the department.
- Manage the performance of assigned staff in all areas by setting individual and collective expectations, monitoring results, completing actions to drive improvement, and invoking progressive discipline as necessary, with a goal of achieving departmental excellence, in an atmosphere of teamwork
Qualifications:
- Ability to work as a team member as well as independently in a hands-on supervisory role
- Ability to take initiative
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- A safety-conscious mindset
- People Management, discipline and performance management experience is a must
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Organized and Detail Oriented
Education & Experience:
- Completion of secondary school preferred
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience in the window and door industry will be considered with priority
