The Impact You'll Make
As our Plant Maintenance Technician, you’ll be the heartbeat of our operations. Every panel, every truss, and every shipment depends on the smooth operation of our machinery and systems. Your expertise will keep our saws cutting true, our presses running strong, and our conveyors moving without a hitch—ensuring our production team can meet tight deadlines without compromising quality or safety.
Duties
· Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on woodworking machinery, hydraulic presses, pneumatic systems, conveyors, and automated saws.
· Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to minimize downtime and keep production on schedule.
· Conduct regular inspections of equipment such as I-Joist cutting lines, truss jigs, truss saws, overhead Laser systems, identifying wear and tear before it becomes a problem.
· Maintain and repair plant infrastructure, including lighting, ventilation, and compressed air systems.
· Collaborate with production supervisors to schedule maintenance without disrupting workflow.
· Keep accurate maintenance logs, parts inventories, and service records.
· Assist in equipment upgrades, installations, and modifications to improve efficiency and safety.
· Deal with suppliers and place orders for parts as required.
· Follow and promote all workplace safety procedures, ensuring compliance with OHSA and company standards.
Experience
· 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or woodworking environment (experience in penalization or truss manufacturing is a strong asset).
· Solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
· Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
· Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure when equipment is down.
· A proactive mindset—able to spot potential issues before they cause downtime.
· Certification in Industrial Maintenance, Millwrighting, or a related trade is preferred (apprentices welcome to apply).
· Commitment to safety and quality in every task.
· Forklift licence is an asset.
Physical requirements
· Heavy lifting
· Standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time.
· Working with greases, oils areoles and other mechanical fluids.
· Working with sharp saws and materials.
· Working in high-noise areas.

Pay Range: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 annually depending on experience.
