About us
Musical Minds Academy is a fast growing music school in Surrey serving 120+ students. We're known for a supportive, high standard learning environment where students perform in seasonal recitals, work through RCM levels, and are celebrated with a school wide recognition program. As we expand our programs, we're looking for a passionate voice teacher to join our team of 8 instructors.
The role
You'll teach private voice lessons to students of a range of ages and levels, primarily in weekday after school and evening time slots, with optional Saturday availability. Teachers who can also take on beginner piano students (up to approximately RCM Level 2 or 3) will have priority for scheduling and a fuller roster. You'll have the support of our in studio assistant and admin team, so you can focus on teaching. Scheduling, billing, and parent communication logistics are handled for you.
Responsibilities
- Teach engaging, well structured private voice lessons (30, 45, or 60 min)
- Teach beginner piano lessons to young and adult beginners
- Prepare students for recitals, and RCM exams where applicable
- Track student progress and communicate goals with students and parents
- Maintain a warm, encouraging studio culture consistent with our teaching philosophy
Qualifications
- Strong vocal training background (RCM Grade 8 voice or higher, post secondary music education, or equivalent professional experience)
- Functional piano skills sufficient to teach beginners and accompany voice students (RCM Grade 6+ piano or equivalent)
- Prior teaching experience with children and teens preferred
- Comfortable teaching a range of styles (classical, musical theatre, contemporary, pop)
- Reliable, professional, and great with parents
- Ability to pass a criminal record check (vulnerable sector)
