Maintenance Technician
Purpose/Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is key to the effective, efficient operations at our multi-family; mixed use properties and plays an important role in ensuring safe and functioning buildings. This role will work jointly and cooperatively with the Resident Manager to ensure day-to-day operations of the building, including, but not limited to the property grounds, tenanted suites, common areas and elements, utility areas, storage areas, operating machinery or other parts of the common elements and all building and improvement activities for this location.
Key Results Areas:
· Ensure building mechanical and plumbing operations in the building are functioning effectively and safely
· Maintaining structural components of the building
· Ensuring electrical components of the building are functioning
· Security, fire and emergency measures
· Access and egress to building
· Grounds/Landscaping
· Snow Clearing
· Garbage and Recycling management
· Administration
· Maintain hallways and stairwells
· Building cleaning
· Elevator management
· Small repairs & maintenance in the suite and building
· Suite turnover between tenants (includes painting, repairs and cleaning)
· Amenity management and maintenance
Skills and Abilities Required:
· Demonstrated experience with related general maintenance and cleaning tasks – this includes painting, patching, basic electrical and plumbing knowledge
· Related technical training is considered a definite asset
· Appliance repair knowledge is an asset
· Knowledge of building operation process, techniques and practices
· Knowledge of emergency procedures
· Basic Administration – ability to use Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word
· Understanding of rental structures/rules/practices
· Customer service
· Problem solving
· Organization and coordination
· Judgement, ability to think on one’s feet
· Post secondary education training in a related area – technical, maintenance considered a definite asset
· Minimum two years demonstrated results in a related field
Compensation and Expectations:
· Full-time hours: 40 per week – on call availability when off-site bi-weekly
· Salary Range: $54,000 - $62,000 annually
· Vacation: 2 Working Weeks (10 business days)
· Sick Time: 6 Days
· Health Spending: $2500
Pay: $54,000.00-$62,000.00 per year
