Inspire and support student success in a dynamic classroom environment. Sturgeon Public Schools is currently seeking a Part-Time Temporary Elementary Teacher for a work assignment at Guthrie School.
Located on CFB Edmonton Garrison military base, Guthrie School is just minutes north of Edmonton and St. Albert. The school serves approximately 250 students from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 9 with a team of 30 staff. Guthrie is known for fostering critical thinking, engagement, and creativity in problem-solving, while providing students with the skills and knowledge they need to reach their full potential.
Teachers play a foundational role in shaping both student learning and student well-being. This position directly influences how students experience school each day academically, socially, and emotionally. Through intentional instruction, strong relationships, and inclusive practices, you help create the conditions where every learner feels seen, supported, and capable of success. Beyond the classroom, your work contributes to a positive school culture and strengthens the broader school community by fostering curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
What You’ll Be Doing
Teach grades 4 / 5 combined
Provide engaging and differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs
Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
Use a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to enhance learning
Build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
Contribute to school initiatives and the broader school community

What You Bring
A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
Experience teaching at the elementary level, preferably in combined-grade classrooms
Experience teaching grades 4 and 5
Classroom management that fosters a safe and caring environment (TCIS training is an asset)
Strong skills in using educational technology to support learning
Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
