Administrative professionals play a key role in keeping government operations running smoothly. From coordinating meetings to supporting financial tasks, your work helps teams deliver programs and services that matter to Ontarians.
As an Administrative Assistant, you may be responsible for a range of tasks that support office operations, team coordination, and client service. Duties may vary depending on the assignment, and can include:
- organizing files, managing emails, and maintaining records to support smooth daily operations
- preparing and formatting documents, reports, and communications using standard templates
- scheduling meetings, coordinating calendars, and assisting with logistics to help teams stay organized
- greeting visitors and responding to phone and email inquiries to provide helpful information and welcoming service
- updating shared resources and monitoring office supply levels to support team readiness and workplace efficiency
- supporting purchasing tasks and helping track expenses and invoices to assist with financial accuracy
- monitoring timelines, following up on tasks, and supporting team coordination to keep projects moving forward
- using standard office software and equipment to complete daily tasks effectively

- operate office equipment such as printers, scanners, and phones
- enter and retrieve information from databases or tracking systems
