Licensed by the Ministry of Education, Network provides equitable and inclusive child care programs to support culturally diverse children and their families in our Early Years Learning, Child Care Centres and Before & After School programs.

Employment Opportunity
Network is currently seeking one RECE for Dane Avenue Child Care Centre, located at 120 Via Bagnato.
Dane Avenue Child Care Centre provides childcare and early years services to 62 infants, toddlers, preschool.
Working under the guidance and support of the Centre Supervisor, the RECE will be responsible for the implementation and planning of a play-based, inclusive, integrated early learning and child care environment that takes a strength-based approach to plan and implement early learning experiences based on pedagogy and How Does Learning Happen? document, while complying with the legislative requirements of the Child Care and Early Year Act (CCEYA), and Toronto Children’s Services’ Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI).
Location: 120 Via Bagnato, Toronto, Ontario.
Job Type: Full Time Permanent, 35 hours per week.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, available to work between the hours of 7:30 am to 6:00 pm.
Start Date: June 29, 2026.
Salary: $25/hr – $27/hr. Plus eligible wage enhancement grant, extended health benefits, employer matched pension plan contributions.
Minimal Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree from an Early Childhood Education program recognized by the Ministry of Education.
- Registered and in Good Standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
- Minimum 1 year of work experience in licensed childcare, working with infants, toddlers and preschool children preferred.
- Able to pass a Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Complete Health Assessment and Immunization, or Ministry approved exemption.
- Available to work flexible hours when required.
Knowledge and Skills
- Working knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI), Every Child Belongs model, and How Does Learning Happen?
- Knowledge of the College of Early Childhood Educators’ Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
- Knowledge of early childhood development theories, documentation methods, and practices.
- Familiarity with Toronto Children’s Services subsidy application process to support families.
- Ability to communicate verbally with proficient English literacy skills to children and adults.
- Ability to read and comprehend written correspondence, including books, memos, schedules, program plans, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to complete both in writing and electronically, reports, forms, program plans, daily log submission, and correspondence.
- Ability to maintain professional relationships and effective interpersonal communication.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to provide leadership and work direction to Early Childhood Educator Assistants (ECA), support staff, placement students and volunteers.
- Ability to co-plan, implement, and facilitate an inclusive play-based early years learning environment.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Demonstrates receptiveness and openness to suggestions and constructive criticism.
Key Responsibilities
- Shares the responsibility with other team members for the observation, documentation of children’s learning, weekly program planning and implementation of a developmentally and culturally appropriate program which meets the cognitive, physical, social and emotional needs of the children.
- Develops daily activities that support and promote the development of children, following the foundations of How Does Learning Happen? And Network’s Program Statement.
- Conducts assessment of the child care program by reviewing and utilizing Toronto Children’s Services Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI).
- Completes the College of Early Childhood Educator’s Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) Program requirements every year.
- Commits to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice for Registered Early Childhood Educators.
- Demonstrates sensitivity and responsiveness to the diverse needs, backgrounds, and experiences of children, families, colleagues, and community members.
- Implements an anti-bias curriculum by promoting diversity and acceptance of individual differences.
- Reflects on practices and adjusts instructional strategies according to the needs and success of the children.
- Implements children’s individual plans (IPs) by integrating identified goals into the daily program and routines.
- Communicates effectively with families verbally and through Storypark, regarding their child’s progress, behavior, and any concerns.
- Works collaboratively with other educators and staff to create a cohesive and supportive team environment.
- Participates in team meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Consults with colleagues and child care professionals regarding additional support and resources.
- Acts as a mentor for assistants, support staff, and students on educational placements.
- Maintains a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
- Ensures that health and safety regulations are followed, including proper sanitation and emergency procedures. Addresses any safety concerns promptly.
- Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
- Follows company policies and procedures for requesting time away from work.
