Insight Counselling Elgin is seeking a locally-based qualified associate to join the practice as an independent contractor who can provide counselling services to couples and individuals in person at our beautiful offices in St. Thomas, Ontario.
This person must have a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology or related field and be a member in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (Qualifying status is okay).
MSWs (registered with the college of social work in Ontario; Master’s degree is a must) may also apply but must have current experience in the practice of psychotherapy.
The ideal clinician is trauma informed and attachment-based and has an interest in and some experience working with couples using Emotionally Focused Therapy. Training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT externship, Core Skills, etc.) would be a significant asset. Many of our inquiries are for couple therapy and we current have a waitlist of couples hoping to be connected with a couple therapist.

· is warm and genuine and is committed to providing empathic and discerning therapeutic care
· is trustworthy and will provide consistent, ethical, and timely communication to clients and colleagues
· takes pride in their organization and will be committed to staying on top of note-taking, client scheduling, and other administrative duties that may be necessary
· demonstrates a desire and commitment to ongoing training and learning
· is collaborative and has a desire to be a committed and active part of the team
. is available 1-3 evenings a week and/or weekends to provide service
Insight Counselling Elgin offers free access to the Jane app for scheduling, note-taking, and online sessions and takes care of all client billing and other administration duties as needed. Insight Counselling Elgin provides all necessary intake and consent forms and updates these forms as needed.
Insight Counselling Elgin offers a competitive session-based fee split and 6 months of free advertising on Psychology Today, where possible, and assists in formulating a compelling and inviting write-up. The successful clinician will also be listed on our website. While hours are not guaranteed, this is a busy practice and new client inquiries, especially for couple therapy, are received regularly.
