As a Senior VDC Designer, Electrical Construction, you will:

Develop detailed electrical installation drawings in Revit from design documents, specifications, and sketches to achieve optimal construction outcomes.

Develop installation drawings for a wide range of electrical building systems such as power distribution, branch power and lighting, fire alarm, security, communications and other specialty systems.

Interact and collaborate with the project team to develop drawings efficiently and accurately while maintaining any time and schedule constraints.

Develop drawings showing the necessary details and assemblies of a wide variety of electrical equipment with details such as dimensions, fastening methods, slab coordinates and other required information.

Model and coordinate electrical infrastructure e.g. cable trays, sleeving, electrical equipment, etc. resolving all model clashes with other trades.

Navigate through and interpret structural, architectural, electrical and mechanical drawings for various occupancy types and spaces.

Perform technical calculations including but not limited to voltage drop, conduit fill.

Review design drawings and provide feedback to ensure requirements are met.

Understand and comply with the project schedule to submit deliverables and implement changes and revisions as required.

Attend BIM/VDC coordination meetings with internal teams and external trade partners, driving the resolution of multi-trade clashes and ensuring aligned project delivery.

Mentor and guide junior VDC team members, reviewing their work for quality and providing technical guidance on VDC best practices.

Interface with project leadership (Project Managers, Site Supervisors, Engineers) to integrate VDC deliverables into overall project planning and decision-making.

Collaborate closely with mechanical, ICAT, and other trade VDC teams to achieve fully coordinated, clash-free designs and to drive consensus on design solutions across disciplines.
Our ideal candidate has:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent is preferable.

Knowledge of electrical systems from both the design and installation perspectives including: power distribution, branch power and lighting, fire safety, security and communications systems.

Advanced knowledge of Autodesk products including Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Autodesk Forma platform.

An understanding of the uses of drawing levels, reference files, various CAD tools, scaling, dimensioning and cross-sectional interpolations

Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.

Ability to manage multiple initiatives within a plan and strong attention to detail.

Excellent organization and time management skills.

3+ years of experience in electrical Virtual Design & Construction / BIM coordination, with proven experience on complex construction projects (from design through construction phases).
-
Experience with BIM-related programming or automation (e.g., Dynamo, Python) is a strong asset.
