**Urgently hiring for FIFA watch parties at our Granville Island Location**
We will be a part of the FIFA watch parties at Granville Island starting Friday 26th June and are looking for excellent servers to temporarily join our team to help staff the events (and watch football!) with the potential to join our team for the summer or longer for the right candidates! (Please read below).
The FIFA events will be longer days requiring lifting, setting up, closing down, POS and cash handling across a busy service building pre-prepared drinks and snacks. The ideal candidates will have a good understanding of customer service, engagement and be able to be ambassadors for our brand!
At Chau Cafe we serve our community with wellness-oriented Vietnamese cuisine alongside offerings of specialty coffee and house-made drinks. Everything we do is done with intention, sourcing ingredients and utilizing every part of it to provide a healthful and sustainable meal.
Chau Cafe is the latest restaurant concept from the Huynh family, with the family serving Vancouver since 1978. Exceptional hospitality is at our core with a team of industry veterans who love to serve our community.
We are seeking experienced Servers to temporarily join our team and be hands-on with day to day operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a passion for food service and customer service, and a comprehensive understanding of restaurant service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant team, ensure exceptional customer experiences, and uphold the highest standards of food safety and hospitality.
Greet and seat guests with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
i. Regulars will likely come straight to the till, that is great. New customers or those who are unsure should be promptly approached with menus and sat down - take a minute to
explain the most popular & your favourite items & features & let them know where to order.
b) Take customer orders accurately and efficiently.
i. We allow modifications on the majority of our dishes, available modifications are visible on the till as well as item descriptions. Take the time to repeat orders back to customers, no matter how small or large, before sending the order through to the kitchen.
ii. As a QSR model, this is likely the most time you will spend talking to a customer during busy periods, be friendly and courteous whilst being mindful of the lineup.
c) Provide menu recommendations and answer questions about food, drinks, and specials.
i. When providing recommendations, try to stick to 1 or 2 recommendations per category, we don’t want to overwhelm anyone.
d) Serve food and beverages while ensuring proper presentation and timing.
e) Check on customers to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
f) Handle payments and process bills using POS systems.
g) Maintain cleanliness of tables, chairs, and dining areas.
h) Follow health and safety regulations, including proper food handling.
i) Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and boost sales.
i. Maximize on this when clearing plates, offering coffees & desserts!
j) Work with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service flow.
Pay: $18.25-$19.25 per hour
Experience:

Licence/Certification:
