Overview
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, maintenance, and diagnostics, with experience working in dealership environments preferred. This role involves performing repairs, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring vehicles meet safety and performance standards. Candidates should possess excellent mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand tools and power tools, and the ability to interpret schematics. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair a wide range of automotive issues using mechanical skills and diagnostic tools
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid replacements
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex problems
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques to complete repairs
- Conduct vehicle inspections to identify potential safety concerns or mechanical failures
- Maintain detailed service records and communicate findings effectively to customers
- Assist with vehicle assembly or component replacement as needed
- Ensure all repairs comply with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Support team members with technical guidance and training when necessary
Experience
- Prior dealership experience is highly desirable
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong understanding of automotive systems
- Knowledge of welding techniques and metal fabrication is a plus
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic software
- Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting equipment
- Background in automotive repair, maintenance, or related fields
- Excellent customer service skills to explain repairs clearly and professionally
