Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Landscape Construction Crew Leader to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3 years minimum experience with all types of interlocking stone work. Experience installing armour stone. Experience with concrete and stamped concrete considered a strong asset. A passion for outdoor work and a desire to contribute to the beautification and maintenance of various landscaping projects is essential. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience managing employees. This role involves various tasks including installing and cutting interlocking stone to build walk ways, patios, driveways, steps, retaining walls and more. Installing and finishing concrete. Carting and spreading aggregates, Operating equipment in a safe and professional manner. Outside of hardscape projects you will also assist in installing mulch, pruning trees and plants, mowing grass and other landscape projects. During the winter months you will assist in snow removal tasks such as shovelling, plowing and salting walk ways and parking lots. You must be physically able to stand, bend and squat for long periods of time and enjoy a variety of physical activities while working outdoors.
Responsibilities
- Participating in the installation of interlocking bricks for various hardscape projects
- Installing armour stone
- Carting and installing concrete
- Operating landscaping equipment such as skid steers, tractors and mini excavators
- Loading and unloading of materials, tools and equipment
- Carting and installing materials using shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows and dollies
- Laying sod and grading
- Assist installing mulch, soil and other related material for creating hardscape and softscape projects
- Assist in the installation of new landscapes including planting trees, shrubs and flowers
- Assist in spring and fall outdoor cleanups
- Assist in cutting grass, weed-eating, blowing grass clippings, collecting litter and debris
- Maintain general cleanliness and organization of work areas, work trucks, tools and equipment
- Managing other employees and project deadlines
- Shovel snow, salt walk ways
Skills
- 3 + years of direct prior landscape construction experience
- Proficiency in using power tools such as stone saws, blowers and drills
- Proficiency operating heavy equipment such as mini excavator and skid steer
- Familiarity with various hand tools used for various landscaping tasks
- Strong motivation and attention to detail
- Time management
- Experience installing retaining walls, and interlocking stone
- Experience installing concrete and stamped concrete
- Collaboration skills that foster efficient team work
- Possession of a valid G class Driver's License
