Tri-global Solutions Group Inc. is seeking one (1) Intermediate Financial Analyst (SAP Ariba Contract Management) to join our talented Service Delivery team at the Ministry of Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction (Government of Alberta).
WORK MODEL: The successful contractor(s) will work primarily work remotely; however, the resource may be required to attend meetings or work sessions in office on reasonable notice from the Province. This can be up to 4 times a year pending on demand. At the time of providing such notice, the Province will advise of the expected duration of any such meetings or work sessions. However, time to travel and any associated expenses to and from Edmonton and/or travel within Alberta will be at no cost to the Province. Applicants must be authorized to work in Canada to apply (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident). Standard Hours of work are 08:15 – 16:30 with a 1 hour lunch break Alberta time, Monday through Friday excluding holidays.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Citizen Experience Evolution branch within Service Alberta and Red Tape reduction (SARTR) is responsible for managing the budget allocated to modernize Land Titles services, Motor Vehicles, and other registry systems to help ensure that Albertans are receiving timely and efficient services. Our team is seeking the support of a Financial Analyst whom will be responsible for providing comprehensive support across financial operations, contract management, project auditing, and cost analysis activities. This role will provide accurate financial reporting, effective procurement and contract processes, and adherence to governance and compliance standards. The Analyst contributes directly to operational excellence by preparing forecasts, validating financial transactions, maintaining documentation, and developing analytical models that support strategic and operational decision‑making.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Financial Operations Support
– Prepare monthly financial forecasts, integrating actual results, trends, and projected expenditures.
– Validate, process, and track vendor invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
– Prepare and submit monthly accrual entries to support accurate period‑end financial reporting.
– Produce monthly budget updates and contract spend reports, highlighting variances and spending trends.
– Support governance reporting requirements by preparing accurate, timely financial and operational data.
2. Contract Management Functions
– Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and accurate financial coding.
– Prepare and maintain Service Entry Sheets (SES) in 1GX (SAP Ariba) ensuring timely approvals and accurate documentation of goods and services received.
3. Project Auditing Support
– Develop, maintain, and update process documentation related to financial and contracting workflows.
– Manage project records in accordance with corporate records management standards and retention policies.
– Manage and respond to audit‑related inquiries, information requests, and documentation needs from internal and external stakeholders.
4. Cost Analysis & Modeling
– Develop cost models and conduct cost analyses to support budgeting, planning, and operational decision‑making.
– Analyze historical and forecasted data to identify financial trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
– Prepare clear, data‑driven insights and recommendations for leadership.

MANDATORY SKILLS
– Relevant post-secondary education in the areas of business administration, accounting or finance, Acceptable education includes degrees, diplomas and certificates. (Yes or No)
– Work experience creating and using advanced Excel skills such as Pivot table, VLOOKUP etc. (3 years+)
– Experience creating and managing project forecast and actual budgets. (3 years+)
– Experience reviewing and validating vendor invoices against contract terms and processing payments using SAP or similar ERP systems (e.g., 1GX, Oracle etc…). (3 years+)
– Experience using accounting principles and Canadian public sector accounting standards or equivalent. (3 years+)
– Experience using SAP and Ariba for contract workspace management. (3 years+)
– Experience working in accounting systems creating processes, managing budgets, and internal controls. (3 years+)
– The ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records. (3 years+)
DESIRABLE / NICE TO HAVE SKILLS
– Experience with trade agreements, Financial Administration Act, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Public Works Act. (3 years+)
– Experience drafting, reviewing, and managing vendor contracts in a complex environment. (3 years+)
– Experience documenting business processes, procedures, standards and guidelines. (3 years+)
– Experience exercising resourcefulness when making recommendations on highly technical or complex business issues without formal guidelines or precedents. (3 years+)
– Experience with and knowledge of financial reporting ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial statements, and using Microsoft Excel. (3 years+)
– Experience with process improvement, documentation and requirement gathering. (3 years+)
– Experience working with business areas and vendors to define audit requirements and implement remediation actions for compliance gaps. (3 years+)
– Experience working with Information Technology accounting and processes. (3 years+)
– Ability to evaluate cost models, contract risks, and pricing structures. (3 years+)
– Strong analytical, decision-making and organizational skills. (3 years+)
– Experience with the Government of Alberta financial system (1GX). (Yes or No)
