Overview
We are seeking an Experienced logging Truck Driver to join our team., for Kelowna and Vernon area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of log hauling and back roads driving. A commitment to safety and professionalism is essential.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a logging truck to transport logs to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition.
- Ensure proper handling and securing of logs.
- Load and unload logs using safety procedures and other equipment as necessary.
- Maintain accurate hours of service logbook, mileage, fuel usage, and other required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transit.
- Adhere to all provincial, and local regulations regarding transportation and safety standards.
- The ability to Perform minor repairs as needed to ensure vehicle reliability would be an asset.
- Winter driving conditions require chains being put on and removed
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience in log transportation and heavy equipment operation is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to perform basic automotive repairs.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills.
