Summary
LINC Home Study is a free, federally-funded, self-paced, distance language training program for immigrants to Canada who are unable to attend English classes in person. The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to the program and assist with small projects. This is a hybrid role working from the Mississauga office and from home.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with data entry and data validation in the Learning Management System
- Assist with outreach and promotion activities
- Assist with planning a staff PD event
- Assist with digital file management
- Assist with formatting and preparing reports and documents
- Support the LINC Home Study Help Desk
- Review LHS website for dead links or outdated information
- Create and lead fun team building activities
- Communicate updates to the supervisor
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications & Skills
- 15 to 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period.
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
- Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
- College or university education preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Google Suite, and online conferencing tools (MS Teams, Zoom).
- Ability to create professional looking presentations and resources.
- Aptitude and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to handle a variety of responsibilities.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently, follow instructions and ask for clarification.
- Demonstrates professionalism in the workplace.
- Knowledge of an additional language is an asset.
