This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Revenue Accountant to join a high-growth SaaS organization and support the build-out of a newly established revenue function. The role sits at the intersection of accounting, systems, and the business, with exposure to complex enterprise deals, cross-functional partnering, and evolving processes.

As the company continues to scale and expand its product offerings, the Finance team plays a critical role in supporting growth through strong financial processes, technical accounting expertise, and cross-functional partnership.
This is a newly created position within a growing Revenue team, designed to support increasing complexity across enterprise deals, bundling arrangements, contract modifications, and new product launches. You will act as a key partner to Sales and Legal, helping ensure contracts are structured appropriately while maintaining compliance with ASC 606.
This role offers a blend of technical accounting, systems ownership, process improvement, and business partnering. It is ideal for someone who enjoys researching accounting guidance, exercising independent judgment, and helping build scalable processes in a growing organization.
Revenue Accounting & ASC 606
- Own and support revenue recognition under ASC 606 across subscription and complex enterprise contracts
- Serve as an internal subject matter expert on revenue accounting policies and application
- Research, interpret, and apply ASC 606 guidance to complex and non-standard transactions
- Prepare technical accounting memos for complex transactions, new product launches, contract modifications, and non-standard arrangements
- Analyze contract terms and provide recommendations on revenue recognition treatment and accounting implications
Deal Desk & Business Partnering
- Partner closely with Sales and Legal as part of the Deal Desk to review and structure complex contracts
- Provide guidance on revenue implications of non-standard deal terms
- Support business teams in navigating accounting considerations while enabling commercial outcomes
- Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders by clearly communicating accounting impacts and practical solutions
Systems & Data Integrity
- Work within and help manage revenue systems (NetSuite and automation tools such as Leapfin)
- Ensure accurate configuration and processing of new products and revenue streams
- Monitor automated outputs and ensure completeness and accuracy of revenue data
- Partner with Finance Systems teams on revenue system enhancements and process improvements
Month-End, Audit & Controls
- Own revenue-related processes within the month-end close cycle
- Support and lead the revenue side of external audits, including responding to technical accounting queries
- Assist in maintaining a strong internal controls environment, including SOX compliance
- Support the development and documentation of revenue accounting policies and procedures
Process Improvement & Scaling
- Design and implement scalable revenue accounting processes to support continued business growth
- Identify opportunities to improve, automate, and streamline revenue workflows
- Help build and maintain a revenue playbook and standardized policies
- Participate in system implementations, process redesign initiatives, and revenue automation projects
- Contribute to building a best-in-class revenue function capable of supporting a complex and evolving business
You are a technically strong and detail-oriented accounting professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment and partnering across teams. You enjoy solving complex accounting issues, interpreting guidance, and building processes that improve scalability and efficiency.
- CPA designation required
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong expertise in ASC 606 and revenue recognition
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply accounting guidance to complex or non-standard transactions
- Experience preparing technical accounting memos and supporting accounting conclusions
- Experience working with complex contracts (bundling, multi-element arrangements, enterprise deals)
- Proven ability to partner effectively with non-finance stakeholders (Sales, Legal, Product, etc.)
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite or similar)
- Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate independently and exercise professional judgment in ambiguous situations
- SaaS or subscription-based industry experience
- Exposure to revenue automation tools (e.g., Leapfin)
- Experience in a SOX-compliant environment
- Big 4 audit, technical accounting, or public practice background
- Experience implementing systems, redesigning processes, or supporting finance transformation initiatives
Competitive base salary $85,900 – $101,000 + equity with potential flexibility for highly qualified candidates, benefits including health coverage, RRSP matching, and flexible PTO.
Hybrid – Vancouver (2 days in office per week: Wednesday & Thursday)
