Job Title: Warehouse Associate– Retail Environment (Seasonal)

Availability Requirements & Growth Opportunity
This role is primarily for the period of Aug 1 to Jan 15, with paid training shifts beginning in July. The successful candidate must be available to work assigned hours (up to 40 hours per week).
While this is a short-term position to begin with, there is potential for long-term opportunities based on performance. As a seasonal decor and home decor store, we offer ongoing "on-call" shifts throughout the year, and candidates who perform well will be given priority consideration for regular part-time or full-time roles during our peak season (August to January).
- Shifts will generally fall between 9:30 AM – 7:00 PM, in line with store hours (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM).
- No night or graveyard shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain organized, well-stocked floors and visually appealing displays to optimize customer experience.
- Efficiently manage inventory flow — receiving, unpacking, restocking, and accurate labeling to ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to keep the sales floor and warehouse coordinated and responsive to stock needs.
- Ensure accurate labeling and placement of items for easy identification.
- Take initiative in identifying areas for improvement and ensuring smooth warehouse operations.
- Perform routine checks to maintain stock accuracy and update inventory records.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Important Role Note
Please note: This role supports a retail store where the primary focus is to maintain smooth store operations, including setting up and taking down displays for customer and design needs, and ensuring the sales floor is consistently stocked. Your success will be measured by how well the warehouse and sales floor are coordinated and stocked. You should approach this role with a mindset focused on how your work directly contributes to the overall success of the store and customer experience.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse experience or retail experience is required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and stay proactive.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting (regular tasks involve moving items weighing 3–20 lbs; occasional tasks require lifting 20–50 lbs). Heavy products include Christmas trees, sculptures, and some furniture.
- Proficient in English, with good communication skills.
- Familiarity with inventory software or tools is an asset.
- Intermediate skill in Excel is an asset.
