Interested candidate should:
- Ideally have early childcare certification education or teaching aide certification
- Have experience working with children aged 4-6 years old
- Have experience with collaborative problem solving model and sensory regulation
- Have experience and/or knowledge of working in an emergent curriculum environment and the Reggio Emilia philosophy
- Be flexible and looks forward to responding to planning to changes in programming as the day requires - based on weather or the interests of the children
- Enjoy collaboration and working in a team planning environment
- Have or be willing to take first aid certification
- Have or be willing to submit a current (within 3 months) criminal record and vulnerable sector check
- Is able to get to our school at Red Deer Lake United Church (96187 Spruce Mdws Grn, Foothills County, AB T1S 2R9)
This position will:
- Work directly to support children and the classroom teacher in daily routines and activities including risk assessment with children
- Require one to spend the majority of each day in the outdoors in all seasons except in extreme weather
- Require one to be part of weekly team planning
- Require one to be available 5 days per week (Monday- Friday) 8:30am to 4:30pm
- Pay $20 per hour to start
- Begin just prior to the 2026-2027 school year (end of August 2026)
