Role Overview
Join our Functional Engineering Team as a Professional – Engineering – Electrical Systems Integration. In this multifaceted position, you will be supported by the Electrical Systems Manager and play a pivotal role across our entire fleet of aircraft.
The Electrical System Integration team is responsible for developing, certifying, improving, and maintaining industry-leading standards for Electrical Power Generation & Distribution systems, as well as lighting systems architectures. This is an exciting opportunity to support all of our products, driving technical improvements and safety across both production and in-service aircraft.
Key Responsibilities
As a core member of the team, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Technical Advancements: Participate in electrical systems technical improvements and developments for existing and future airplane programs (optimizing architectures, incorporating new technologies, etc.).
- Engineering Documentation: Prepare and review engineering documents related to electrical system changes on our Challenger 3500/650 and Global 5500/6500/7500/8000 airplanes.
- Innovation: Propose, elaborate, and test novel approaches to optimize business airplanes on key aspects such as emissions reduction, costs, weight, performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Trade Studies: Contribute to trade studies associated with new technology introduction and integration on aircraft.
- Knowledge Domain: Learn from and contribute to the Electrical Knowledge Domain to capture lessons learned and industry best practices (both product and process).
- Interface Management: Manage technical interfaces with internal partners, external collaborators, and suppliers.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical system integration or a closely related aerospace engineering domain.
- Regulatory & Standards Knowledge: Deep familiarity with relevant industry standards (RTCA/DO-160, SAE, MIL-STD, etc.) and airworthiness regulations/advisory materials (TCCA, FAA, EASA) pertaining to electrical systems.
- Collaboration: Comfortable working in a team environment and interacting seamlessly with other functional areas (airworthiness, manufacturing, and other engineering disciplines).
- Communication: Strong oral and technical writing skills. Fluency in French is considered an asset.
- Work Style: Ability to work autonomously, demonstrate proactive initiative, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
