Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class 1 Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks to transport freight efficiently across various routes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, adherence to regulations, and excellent driving skills to ensure timely deliveries and maintain the company's reputation for dependability.
Duties
- Operate Class 1 commercial trucks for local and regional freight deliveries
- Load and unload freight using forklift or other heavy equipment as needed
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, routes, and vehicle logs
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during transportation activities
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse personnel to coordinate delivery schedules
- Assist with the operation of heavy equipment when required for loading or unloading cargo
Skills
- Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Experience operating forklifts and heavy equipment preferred
- Knowledge of freight handling and securement procedures
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs and troubleshooting skills
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to commercial driving and heavy equipment operation
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills for effective coordination with team members and dispatchers
