Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Tool and Die Specialist. He will be responsible for design, programming and cutting of mold tools in our CNC Milling Machines. This role combines advanced toolmaking skills with expertise in injection and low-pressure molding processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and maintain precision tools, molds, and dies for high pressure injection and low-pressure molding applications.
- Utilize CAD software, such as SolidWorks, to create detailed designs and schematics
- Program CNC machines for precision machining tasks.
- Conduct routine maintenance and ensure optimal machine performance to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop and optimize tool and mold designs for efficiency and quality.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet stringent quality standards and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Eliminate rework and scrap by identifying any potential failure points and designing for success.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in tool and die making, with experience in injection and low-pressure molding (required).
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/Plastics Engineering/Chemical Engineering or equivalent Technical education/diplomas
- Proficiency in setting up and operating injection molding and low-pressure molding machines.
- Molding and plastics experience
- AutoCAD, Mastercam experience
- Strong knowledge of custom cable and wire harness manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
