Casual Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA)
We are currently looking for a Casual Medical Laboratory Assistant. The successful candidate will interact
with patients and other health care workers to ensure that the needs of the patient are met in a caring and
professional manner and will provide laboratory services in accordance with the Policies and Procedures of
the Laboratory Department. In addition, they will foster and support a team environment to ensure the
attainment of our organization objectives and will act as a role model for all staff and promote the reputation
of the facility in the community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate should possess the following:
- Successful completion of Grade 12
- Graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory Technician/Assistant program is preferred
- Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician/Assistant is considered an asset
- Certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) is considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with other staff, patients and the
public
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to provide regular attendance
- Bilingualism in French and English is an asset
