Welcome to the Extraordinary. The Hazelton Hotel Toronto is comprised of 77 suites in a limestone building that has been designed to set the standard for five-star hotels in Canada. Located in the heart of fashionable Yorkville, guests will be steps away from the luxury shops of Bloor Street, and many of the country's finest art galleries, world-class museums and theatres. The oversized accommodations are designed by internationally renowned designers Yabu Pushelberg and feature the latest in technology and communication.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient and safe manner.
- Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs an all-hotel equipment, including kitchen, boiler, plumbing, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms.
- Drywall repair, painting repair and other carpentry as needed.
- Monitor and maintain all engineering functions when full engineering staff is not available (i.e., weekends and evenings).
- Respond to all emergency situations including fire alarms, bomb threats, disasters and power failures; notify the appropriate authorities.
- Make rounds of the property to ensure everything is in working order.
- Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas.
- Complete maintenance requests and maintain log to notify the next shift.
- Report any unsafe conditions to the Building Engineer.
- Other duties as assigned
Hourly Pay: $24 - $25.26
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent trade school, special courses in building maintenance and construction.
- Two years prior experience in building maintenance or related industry.
- Ability to maintain electrical, plumbing equipment, repair work, construction and renovation work.
- Ability to work within team environment.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Prior hotel experiences an asset
- IT knowledge preferred
- Must be available for weekends, rotating shifts (AM/PM) and extended hours (as required).
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
