Services include fifth-wheel installations, hitch installations, truck wiring, brake control installations, trailer safeties, modifications and welding repairs. Responsibilities:
- Complete mechanical, electrical, or general repairs/service
- May provide guidance to apprentice mechanics during repairs
- Determine trailer problems by visually inspecting and using various diagnostic tools to determine repairs needed
- Answer inquiries, identifies potential future problems, recommends repair or replacement of parts, and reports findings to Service Counter
- Inspect new trailers and prepare for sales lot
Skills & Experience:
- Basic mechanical experience and knowledge
- Interest in continually upgrading skills and knowledge in trade
- Trailer Safety Inspection Certificate an asset and may become required
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Aptitude to learn and work in the trade
- Positive attitude and team player
- Strong commitment to the customer
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding duties
- Must be familiar with and supply own tools of the trade
