About the Opportunity
Morskate Manufacturing, based in Ponoka, Alberta, is seeking a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to support the continued growth and day-to-day operations of our Human Resources department within a fast-paced steel manufacturing environment.

Working closely with the HR Manager, this role is ideal for an emerging HR professional looking to accelerate their career through hands-on experience and broad exposure across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, compliance, workforce planning, and HR systems.
As a key member of the team, you will help strengthen HR programs, support employees and leaders, and contribute to building a professional, people-focused workplace culture. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate full-cycle recruitment activities including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, reference checks, offer preparation, and onboarding.
- Support recruitment and workforce attraction strategies to attract qualified talent across the organization.
- Coordinate and participate in talent attraction initiatives including career fairs, student recruitment, apprenticeships, internships, trade events, and community partnerships.
- Maintain accurate employee records, HR databases, reporting, and confidential documentation.
- Assist with the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of HR systems, processes, and tools, including HRIS initiatives.
- Prepare employment documentation, employee correspondence, and support payroll-related administrative processes.
- Support HR reporting, compliance requirements, and employee information management.
- Act as a first point of contact for employee HR-related inquiries and provide day-to-day administrative support.
- Support employee relations, performance management processes, policy administration, and HR compliance activities.
- Assist leaders and employees in fostering a positive, professional, and people-focused workplace culture.
- Coordinate employee training, development initiatives, and onboarding programs.
- Assist with the development and enhancement of HR policies, procedures, templates, systems and best practices.
- Support HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen organizational effectiveness and employee experience.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of Human Resources experience
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or construction environment considered an asset
- Experience supporting multiple HR functions within a growing organization
- Experience coordinating full-cycle recruitment processes
- Working knowledge of HR fundamentals, employment standards legislation, and HR best practices
- Experience using HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information

Working Conditions
- Office based role within a manufacturing environment
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Regular interaction with office, production, and field employees
- Occasional flexibility required to support evening production shifts or field crews outside regular office hours

Compensation
- Starting hourly wage: $28.00 – $33.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and overall skillset.
