Overview
We are seeking a motivated Construction Labourer/Apprentice to join our dynamic construction team. This role offers hands-on experience in various aspects of construction projects, providing a valuable opportunity to develop skills in carpentry and the construction process. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, reliable, and ready to contribute to diverse building and renovation tasks. Prior experience is not required but familiarity with basic construction concepts and tools is a plus.
Duties
- Assist with general construction tasks including site preparation, material handling, and cleanup
- Support skilled tradespeople in tasks such as material handling and basic carpentry skills
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely under supervision
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings
- Assist with concrete forming, framing and finishing multiple types of materials.
- Help with installation of cabinets, flooring, and drywall as needed
- Support caulking, painting, and restoration activities on-site
- Operate heavy equipment following safety protocols when trained and authorized
- Follow safety guidelines to maintain a secure work environment at all times
Experience
- Prior experience in construction or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for all new hires
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating is beneficial
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools is an asset
- Willingness to learn new skills across various areas of carpentry.
- Valid <PERSON> license or willingness to obtain one is preferred
