Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and will be responsible for educating students in various subjects. This role requires excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, and a dedication to student success, including those with special educational needs.
Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Educate students in a classroom setting, ensuring they grasp key concepts and skills.
- Provide tutoring and additional support to students who require extra assistance.
- Assess student performance through assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback.
- Write detailed reports on student progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding academic performance.
- Organize classroom activities that promote student participation and collaboration.
- Maintain an orderly classroom environment conducive to learning while managing student behavior effectively.
- Collaborate with other educators and staff to support students with special education needs.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a related field or Ontario Certificate of Teachers (OCT) in good standing is preferred.
- 2-3 years of classroom teaching experience is preferred.
- Outstanding expertise in the specific subject area(s).
- Strong understanding of the Ontario School Curriculum and the Growing Success Documents.
- Excellent classroom management, organization, and planning skills.
- Great communication skills with parents, students and co-workers in a respectful and supportive manner.
- Experience in using learning technology (Especially Google Workspace, and MS Office).
- Creative, flexible, innovative and positive approach to teaching.
- Understand the needs of students and goes beyond the call of duty.
- Problem solver and solution provider when issues arise.
- Thrives in a positive team environment and easily adapts to new things.
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
