Sandwich Shop Lead
Hours: 37-40 hours per week Pay: $20-24/ hr PLUS tips
Expected Start Date: No later than June 1, 2026 Shift Times: 6AM to 2:30PM
Job Overview
Join our small, tight-knit team at Adhoc Sandwich Co., a busy downtown spot specializing in fresh, made-to-order sandwiches, smoothies, and house-baked treats including house made schiacciata bread and ice cream sandwiches. We're looking for a dependable, detail-oriented kitchen team member who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys producing high-quality food efficiently during our peak lunch rush to open and lead prep. This is a hands-on production role with minimal customer interaction, perfect if you prefer focused kitchen work over front-of-house service. Full training is provided on all tasks, so while prior experience is required, the right attitude and reliability matter most.
Job Tasks
The roles requires attention to detail, confidence leading and organizing a team, with the ability and speed to consistently meet goals and keep service flowing including:
- Leading, organize and conducting prep of required sandwich fillings/sauces etc. each day with your team
- Prepping and baking schiacciata bread
- Slicing meat and cheeses
- Urgently preparing food and drink products
- Leading and controlling sandwich orders during Lunch Rush
- Effectively track info and communicate in Google sheets
- Adhere to all internal and government required health and safety regulations
- Understand and comply with all legislated, mandated and company policies, guidelines and procedures
- Other ad hoc tasks as required

Candidate Personal Suitability

- Have organizational skills with an eye for detail or ability to quality control product
- Understands and comfortable using Google Sheets
- Possesses adequate and safe knife skills
Candidate Requirements
- MUST be at least 18 years of age upon application
- A valid Food Handling Certification
- Previous lead or management experience in a commercial kitchen, deli, bakery etc.
- Valid working permits required
- Candidates with deli/ sandwich experience valued
