Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Structural Welder/Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fitting, fabricating, and welding structural steel components according to blueprints, specifications, and quality standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Structural Fitting
- Read and interpret structural steel drawings, blueprints, and fabrication details.
- Measure, mark, layout, and fit steel components accurately according to specifications.
- Align and assemble beams, columns, plates, and miscellaneous steel components.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, and quality before welding.
- Safely operate shop equipment, cranes, and material handling tools.
Structural Welding
- Perform structural welding using FCAW, SMAW, MIG, and other approved welding processes.
- Complete welds in accordance with applicable codes, procedures, and quality standards.
- Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and compliance.
- Repair and rework welds as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in structural steel fabrication, fitting, and welding.
- Ability to read and interpret complex fabrication and engineering drawings.
- Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication processes.
- Experience with FCAW and SMAW welding processes preferred.
- CWB certification is required
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong mathematical, measuring, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an industrial environment.
