Role Overview
This is a field-driven Project Coordinator role supporting large-scale utility infrastructure projects within our Major Projects division.
You will work on:
- High-voltage transmission line construction
- Utility infrastructure and associated civil works
- Multi-disciplinary EPC projects supporting Ontario's electrical infrastructure
This is not a commercial building or office-based coordination role.
You must be comfortable working:
- On active construction sites
- Alongside field crews, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
- In fast-paced, execution-focused environments with multiple concurrent priorities
What You'll Be Responsible For
Field Coordination (Primary Focus)
- Coordinate daily construction activities between field crews, subcontractors, supervisors, and project management.
- Monitor field progress, materials, equipment, and work sequencing to support efficient project execution.
- Identify and proactively resolve field issues while communicating effectively with project stakeholders.
- Support construction planning and ensure field activities align with project schedules and execution plans.
Project Execution Support
- Coordinate RFIs, submittals, drawing revisions, and document control to support construction activities.
- Assist with project mobilization, logistics, site readiness, and material coordination.
- Monitor project deliverables to ensure work is completed in accordance with scope, schedule, quality, and client requirements.
Schedule & Cost Support
- Assist with look-ahead planning, schedule updates, and progress reporting using tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
- Track installed quantities, productivity, and field production to support project forecasting.
- Provide accurate field information to assist with cost tracking, change management, and project reporting.
Safety & Quality
- Support implementation of project Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) requirements and promote a strong safety culture.
- Participate in site inspections, safety meetings, audits, and hazard assessments.
- Assist with quality documentation, inspections, deficiency tracking, and project closeout activities.
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience supporting heavy civil, utility, or infrastructure construction projects in a field-based coordination role.
- Experience working directly with construction crews, subcontractors, and site supervision on active job sites.
- Experience supporting one or more of the following:
- High-voltage transmission line construction
- Utility infrastructure
- Civil infrastructure
- Electrical EPC projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting transmission line, substation, or utility infrastructure projects.
- Working knowledge of Procore, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar construction management software.
- Experience with QA/QC processes, document control, and construction turnover documentation.
- Strong understanding of utility construction sequencing, field coordination, and contractor management.
Location
- Candidates must be based within the Greater Toronto Area, Chatham, or Welland region.
- Regular travel to project sites across Ontario is required.
Pay: From $28.00 per hour
