Enviro Balance is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and client-focused HVAC Junior Estimator to join our team. This is a desk-based position responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for our Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) projects.
Prior experience reading mechanical drawings is an asset, but we are happy to train the right candidate with strong administrative abilities and a willingness to learn technical concepts.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update our list of active tenders.
- Review project documents to define the scope and help prepare cost estimates for TAB projects.
- Use the provided project data to complete accurate cost sheets and proposals.
- Submit proposals on time and follow up with clients to gather feedback.
- Utilize Microsoft Office and Google Workspace for document creation, spreadsheets, and presentations.
- Work closely with the Project Coordinator to ensure a smooth project handoff after award.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, consultants, and clients
- Collaborate with team members to enhance office efficiency and workflow.
Requirements
- Strong administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace and cloud-based file sharing.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Ontario residency and ability to work from a quiet, professional home office.

- Assist senior estimators in preparing detailed HVAC project estimates using industry-standard software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
- Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine scope of work and material requirements.
- Gather pricing information from suppliers and subcontractors to develop accurate cost estimates.
- Support negotiation efforts with vendors and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing and terms.
- Collaborate with project management teams to understand project timelines, budgets, and resource needs.
- Prepare bid proposals, including detailed breakdowns of costs, labor, materials, and equipment.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and related documentation for future reference.
- Stay informed about industry trends, material costs, and new technologies relevant to HVAC construction projects.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of construction estimating principles and HVAC systems.
- Experience with Bluebeam or similar PDF editing tools is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and clients.
- Knowledge of project management practices within the construction industry is desirable.
- Educational background in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields is preferred but not required. This position offers a valuable pathway for individuals interested in building a career within the construction estimating field, particularly focusing on HVAC projects.
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Toronto, ON (York District)
