Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Traffic Control Dispatcher/Scheduler person to join our team in the telecommunications sector. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient communication and coordination providing clients with a high level of quality, service and safety while maintaining client objectives and contributing significantly to our mission of delivering exceptional network installation services.
Key Responsibilities
Scheduling and Coordination
- Validate and schedule traffic control for contractors.
- Enter and track requests and scheduling in the company system.
- Answer questions/provide guidance to requestors relating to traffic control.
- Optimize scheduling to minimize overtime and travel costs while maximizing crew utilization.
Administrative Support
- Maintain and organize job files, permits, site plans, and daily logs, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Answer our toll free dispatch line and process requests.
- Data entry and reporting
- Site audits
Qualifications:
Required
- Experience: Minimum 2–5 years in the traffic control or road construction industry.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with the BC Ministry of Transportation & Transit Traffic Management Manual (TMM) and WorkSafe BC OHS Section 18 regulations.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read a Traffic Management Plan (TMP) and identify/schedule resources and equipment based on that plan.
- Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strong verbal and written communication.
- Adaptability: Ability to handle high-pressure situations, manage frequent scheduling changes, and work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace (Drive, Email, Maps).
- Knowledge of completing risk assessments, fi eld-level risk assessments, and onsite Traffic Management Plans.
- Proven experience in a scheduling or dispatch role specific to the traffic control industry.
- Experience with Invarion/Rapid Plan
