Overview
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Damage Repair Estimator to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in evaluating vehicle damage, providing accurate repair estimates, and delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of automotive repair processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively upsell additional services. Experience in dealership settings or mechanical knowledge is highly valued to ensure precise assessments and efficient workflow management.
Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to assess extent of repairs needed
- Prepare detailed repair estimates using industry-standard software and tools
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair procedures, costs, and timelines
- Collaborate with technicians and body shop staff to ensure accurate repair planning
- Assist customers through the claims process and provide guidance on repairs
- Upsell additional services or parts that may benefit the customer while maintaining integrity
- Order Parts and ensure price accuracy
- Maintain organized records of estimates, repairs, and customer interactions
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns
Experience
- Prior dealership experience or mechanic background is preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and repairs
- Proven experience in automotive repair estimation or related roles
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively
- Sales experience with a focus on upselling services or parts is advantageous
- Minimum 1 year experience with using automotive estimating software and repair procedures such as Audatex & Mitchell
