Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Equipment Operator to join our quarry team. The primary responsibility of this role is to handle, move, and sort armour stone following blasting operations. Operators will work with large-scale equipment to safely manage aggregate stockpiles and ensure timely loading of customer trucks and trailer combos.
Key Responsibilities
- Load customer trucks using Wheel loaders (Komatsu 500/600; CAT 988F).
- Stockpile aggregates from the crushing spread.
- Complete required pre-operation inspections and safety forms.
- Report any equipment issues promptly and assist with basic maintenance checks.
- Follow all quarry safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment, particularly wheel loaders.
- Experience handling and loading materials in a quarry, pit, mine, or crushing environment.
- Knowledge of safe loading practices for truck-trailer combos.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine checks.
- Valid driver’s license required; equipment operator certification an asset.
- Ability to work in outdoor quarry conditions and perform physical tasks.
