Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will treat patients with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in home services, including acute care and pediatric environments, under SLP supervision.This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients’ quality of life through specialized therapy interventions. The Speech Therapist will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to delivery personalized treatment and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to each patient’s needs, under SLP supervision.
- Provide evidence-based therapy sessions to improve speech and language skills in diverse populations, including pediatrics and acute care patients.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment strategies accordingly.
- Educate patients and their families on therapy techniques and strategies for continued improvement at home.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, educators, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Qualifications
- Communicative Disorders Assistant credential.
- Experience working in acute care settings is preferred; experience with pediatrics is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to healthcare environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with patients of all ages.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate approach with a commitment to improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practices.
- Portuguese or Spanish is desirable.
