*Job Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Security Guard for job sites and events. As a Security Guard, you will play a crucial role in protecting property and people in various capacities.
*Duties*
- Show up to work fit for duty with appearance and uniform in acceptable form.
- Accept, sign, and follow post orders for each job and location.
- Follow all rules and regulations set out by the government of B.C. and the client.
- Respond to any on site emergencies, suspicious activities, disorder, and criminal acts.
- In cases of suspicious activity or potential criminal acts, strictly observe and report. Call police, secure the scene, collect evidence, and follow direction of law enforcement.
- Perform regular patrols via vehicle or foot depending on site lay out.
- Collaborate with, support, and follow direction of emergency services such as law enforcement, fire fighters, and paramedics.
- Fill out daily reports and any supplemental reports in regards to incidents.
- perform pre job vehicle inspections
- participate in safety meetings
*Skills*
- Proficiency in using apps for documentation
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary
- Knowledge of security guard policies and procedures as outlined in the education and training via the Justice Institute of B.C..
- Experience in site security
- Familiarity with industrial safety regulations and procedures
This job involves both work local to the Cranbrook area, and remotely on sites in the East and West Kootenays.
You must possess a valid driver's license and security license.
The shifts are generally 12 hours with possibilities for mandatory Overtime should the need arise. It is generally 7 on 7 off or 14 on 14 off depending on distance from home office. Shifts can be day or night shift. Accommodations are provided when necessary.
Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour
