Ontario Pharmacist: Your 2026 Summer Opportunity – Soak Up the Scenery Instead of the City Heat!
Ontario pharmacists, picture a summer without the humidity, traffic, and stress. This is your chance for a refreshing change.
You know the pattern: another Toronto patio season marred by construction, a July weekend stuck in traffic heading to the cottage, and a August filled with pharmacy calls during your “time off.”
For 2026, break free. Discover a different path. We are looking for one pharmacist based in Ontario to take on a summer role in Western Newfoundland. Your new daily commute will feature ocean vistas, icebergs, and zero traffic lights.
The Position: Relief Pharmacist (Western Newfoundland)
- Assignment Dates: Starting June 1st for 3–6 months (perfect for summer)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm (no evenings or weekends – a rare perk!)
- Pharmacy System: Kroll (you’re already familiar)
- Prescription Volume: 150–200 per day
- Support: Full Pharmacy Assistant support plus an overlapping pharmacist
- Certifications Required: OAT and Injection
Why You’ll Love Summer in NFLD More Than Ontario:
Ontario summer often hits 35°C with humidity and smoke.
Western Newfoundland offers a comfortable 18-22°C from June to August. Hike without overheating, sleep with windows open, and skip the indoor heat warnings.
️ Weekends Off:
Ontario: “Let’s go to Muskoka?” (4 hours each way, $500/night).
NFLD: Leave Friday at 5pm, drive 20 minutes to Gros Morne National Park (a UNESCO site). Explore the Tablelands, watch whales, or tour a freshwater fjord. Back for Saturday brunch.
Commute:
Ontario: 1.5 hours for 30km on the QEW.
NFLD: No traffic, no road rage. You’ll find the term “traffic jam” amusing.
Lifestyle:
Ontario: Pricey patios, reservations required weeks in advance.
NFLD: Famous hospitality and kitchen parties—you’ll feel welcomed before your first shift ends. Screech optional, but new friends guaranteed.
The Financial Rewards (Smart Choice):
- Earn up to $100/hour – this is your top rate for 2026.
- Lower cost of living while there means you save more than staying in the GTA.
Requirements:
- Active Ontario license (eligible for NFLB registration—we help)
- OAT certification (mandatory)
- Injection certification (mandatory)
- A sense of adventure and a desire to truly enjoy your summer
This is your 2026 opportunity. Stay in Ontario and repeat the same cycle? Or take this 3-6 month role and return with over $25k saved, unforgettable stories, and a hiking tan—not a traffic tan.
