About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Controls & Automation Electrician (309A) to join our team. This role focuses on troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving industrial control systems and automated equipment in manufacturing environments.
This position is focused on industrial troubleshooting and automation systems rather than new construction electrical work. Candidates should be comfortable diagnosing production equipment issues involving electrical, control, and mechanical systems.
The ideal candidate has strong industrial electrical experience combined with hands-on exposure to PLC-controlled systems, electrical schematics, and mechanical equipment. This position requires a problem-solver who is comfortable diagnosing complex production issues involving electrical, automation, and mechanical systems.
This role supports industrial service work in manufacturing environments and may require availability outside normal working hours to respond to equipment repair or service calls when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot industrial machinery and automated production equipment
- Diagnose electrical and control system faults in manufacturing environments
- Install, modify, and maintain electrical control systems and automation equipment
- Work with PLC-controlled systems for troubleshooting, commissioning, and system improvements
- Read, interpret, and modify electrical schematics and control drawings
- Utilize CAD drawings and electrical documentation for system installation and troubleshooting
- Install and connect motors, sensors, control panels, drives, and automation components
- Perform electrical testing using diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, clamp meters, and other instrumentation
- Work closely with automation technicians and engineers to support system integration and upgrades
- Support service work and equipment repair at customer facilities
- Ensure all work complies with the Ontario Electrical Code and applicable safety standards
Qualifications
- 309A Licensed Electrician (Journeyman)
- Industrial electrical experience in manufacturing environments
- Strong troubleshooting ability and service experience
- PLC experience required (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms)
- CAD experience required (AutoCAD or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and layouts
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability and aptitude for diagnosing equipment issues
- Experience with industrial automation systems including sensors, VFDs, motors, and control panels
- Comfortable troubleshooting live production equipment in industrial facilities
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Valid driver’s license

Compensation & Benefits

Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- 40 hours per week
- Flexible on-call rotation based on team availability and shared participation
- Occasional overtime and after-hours support are expected as part of team participation
