5+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IS A MUST.
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / CAD Designer with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the architectural millwork, cabinetry, or woodworking industry.
Knowledge and experience with BIESSE machinery is mandatory.
The successful candidate must be able to independently design, nest, and program projects for production with minimal supervision. This is not an entry-level position. Only candidates with proven experience in a production environment will be considered.
Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled, detail-oriented CNC Programmer / CAD Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating production-ready drawings, nesting materials efficiently, and programming CNC machinery for custom woodworking, millwork, cabinetry, furniture, and specialty fabrication projects.
This position requires someone who understands the complete manufacturing process—from reviewing shop drawings through CNC programming—to ensure efficient and accurate production.
Responsibilities
- Design and prepare detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings.
- Program and operate BIESSE CNC machinery.
- Create optimized nests for CNC production while maximizing material yield.
- Develop production-ready CNC programs directly from approved shop drawings.
- Produce accurate shop drawings, schematics, construction plans, and technical documentation.
- Review drawings for manufacturability before production.
- Collaborate with designers, project managers, and production staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Modify existing drawings and programs as project revisions occur.
- Maintain organized CAD files, CNC programs, and revision control.
- Utilize drafting best practices to produce clear, organized, and professional manufacturing files.
- Assist with production troubleshooting when required.
Required Qualifications5+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
Applicants must have at least five (5) years of experience working in a custom cabinetry, millwork, woodworking, or interior fit-out manufacturing environment.
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience (REQUIRED).
- Extensive knowledge and experience with BIESSE CNC machinery.
- Must be able to Design, Nest, and Program independently.
- Strong experience with AutoCAD and other CAD software.
- Ability to create production-ready shop drawings.
- Strong understanding of cabinetry, millwork, furniture construction, and manufacturing methods.
- Experience interpreting architectural drawings and specifications.
- Thorough understanding of CNC tooling, feeds, speeds, machining strategies, and production workflows.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with designers, project managers, and shop personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with one or more of the following software:
- AutoCAD
- SketchUp
- SolidWorks
- Revit
- MicroStation
- NavisWorks
- Civil 3D
Experience with custom woodworking, commercial millwork, retail fixtures, museum exhibits, specialty fabrication, or luxury residential cabinetry is considered a strong asset.
