Painter / Painting Labourer

Showman Custom Painting Ltd. is looking for a reliable and hardworking Painter / Painting Labourer to join our team. We specialize in high-quality residential, strata and commercial painting projects throughout Metro Vancouver.
Applicants with limited painting experience are welcome to apply. Less-experienced team members will primarily assist with taping, masking, surface preparation, cleanup, moving equipment and other physically demanding job-site duties while learning professional painting techniques.
Responsibilities
- Taping and masking floors, trim, windows, doors and surrounding surfaces
- Covering and protecting furniture, flooring and finished areas
- Sanding, scraping, patching, caulking and preparing surfaces
- Removing and reinstalling outlet covers and other small fixtures
- Moving ladders, materials, equipment and furniture
- Cleaning work areas throughout the day
- Assisting experienced painters with rolling, brushing and spraying
- Performing interior and exterior painting based on experience
- Working safely on ladders and active construction sites
- Following instructions carefully and maintaining high-quality standards
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver’s licence and reliable personal vehicle
- Must be able to travel to job sites throughout The Lower Mainland
- Must be punctual, dependable and willing to perform physically demanding work
- Comfortable lifting materials, moving equipment and working from ladders
- Strong attention to detail, especially when taping and protecting surfaces
- Able to follow instructions and work efficiently as part of a team
- Painting or construction experience is an asset
- Having your own painting tools is a strong asset
Compensation
- $20–$35 per hour, depending on experience, skill level and reliability
- Entry-level applicants will generally begin with preparation and labour duties
- Opportunities to learn painting skills and earn increased pay as responsibilities grow
