As a Machinist, you’ll help build precision components that support reliable food equipment manufacturing at Unifiller, a Coperion brand – part of Hillenbrand, in Richmond, BC. We design and manufacture depositing and portioning equipment used by food producers around the world. You’ll contribute to product quality, operational consistency, and long-term manufacturing performance through accurate machining and disciplined execution. Your work will support safe production, dependable equipment, and continuous improvement across the shop.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Select tools, machines, and materials based on drawings, specifications, and production requirements to support safe, accurate setup
- Machine parts to required dimensions using lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other shop equipment to meet print and tolerance standards
- Inspect completed components with precision measuring instruments to verify conformance, identify defects, and maintain product quality
- Read blueprints, engineering drawings, and bills of materials to determine machining methods, fabrication steps, and work sequence
- Follow fabrication and welding-related requirements from drawings and specifications to support complete, accurate manufacturing output
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by using required protective equipment and standard procedures to support efficient operations
- Support team performance by sharing knowledge, assisting with training when needed, and completing additional assigned work with care and accountability

THE EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED:
- Hands-on machining experience in a manufacturing environment using equipment such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, or similar shop tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, bills of materials, and specifications to complete work accurately
- Experience using precision measuring tools, such as micrometers and related instruments, to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Practical mechanical aptitude and sound problem-solving skills to address machining and fabrication issues in daily work
- Ability to work safely, follow standard procedures, and maintain quality expectations in a production setting
- Ability to manage time, stay organized, and handle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively both independently and with teammates from varied backgrounds
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical tasks required in a shop environment
The hourly pay range is $36 - $40. Exact compensation will be based on experience, education, and other job-related factors.
