Our skilled team of machinists and inspectors work across a broad range of equipment, from CNC and manual lathes to spline grinding and CMM inspection, all to ensure our customers receive components that meet the tightest tolerances and most rigorous specifications.
We are currently seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our Nuclear Business Unit. The QC Inspector is responsible for inspecting nuclear machined components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role is essential in maintaining product quality, dimensional accuracy, and conformance to nuclear standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspect machined nuclear components using precision measurement instruments and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
- Interpret and evaluate inspection results against engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Perform first off, in-process, and final inspections in accordance with company procedures.
- Accurately document inspection results, including inspection reports, CMM data, and nonconformance records.
- Identify and report dimensional discrepancies, defects, and nonconformances to Quality Engineering or supervision.
- Ensure compliance with N285, N285, AS9100, customer specifications, and any other applicable nuclear standards.
- Verify calibration status and proper use of inspection and measurement equipment.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve quality issues.
- Assist with training or mentoring junior inspectors as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical diploma preferred
- Quality inspection or metrology certification preferred
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
- 3 minimum years of experience inspecting nuclear or aerospace machined components
- Proficiency with precision measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, etc.).
- Experience operating and interpreting CMM inspection results.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Knowledge of nuclear quality standards and inspection practices.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must meet vision and physical requirements for inspection work.
- Experience with CMM software and inspection reporting systems.
- Familiarity with N285 and customer-specific requirements.
- Experience supporting customer or regulatory audits.
